Rule of the Week

Accidental damage to equipment

During your round, you accidentally damage your club whilst making a stroke near a tree trunk which makes the club non-conforming. You use the club in its damaged state for the rest of the round. Is there a penalty?

Answer – No Rule 4.1a(2) The damaged club is treated as conforming for the rest of the round (but not during a play-off in stroke play, which is a new round)
