Womens Interclub Foursomes Champions 2025 – East Herts GC

East Herts win Womens Foursomes Title at Dyrham Park with prizes spread around 4 different clubs

Our always popular and convivial Womens Interclub Foursomes event was played yesterday (Monday 9 June) at Dyrham Park Country Club, located on the outskirts of Barnet, very close to both Old Fold Manor & The Shire London golf courses.

22 clubs, 44 pairs, 88 players competed on the day, playing 18 holes medal foursomes, a format that certainly tests friendships if nothing else!

The conditions were fairly benign, mild temperatures, overcast for much of the day but dry, with low breeze throughout – good conditions for scoring.

Defending Champions in the main Scratch team competition, with both pairs scores combined to create a cumulative gross team score, were Essendon, who put up a sterling defence of their title and would finish in the runners up spot, aided by Sarah Marley & Riya Chandaria’s best of the day score of 78 +4, a score good enough to win them the Herts Maps by virtue of a back nine countback over 2 other pairs. Winners of the Interclub Challenge Cup however would be East Herts with a cumulative score of +15 to win by 2 shots from Essendon. East Herts were represented by pairs Gill Winter & Ava Gadsby and Sophie Brooke & Sally Close.

The Handicap Cup for the best cumulative team nett score was won by the Brocket Hall team with an excellent score of -2 and were represented by Cathy Gosling & Louise Shek and Laura Rael-Brook & Mei Lu.

The best nett score on the day was achieved by Sandra Fagan & Liz Audley with an excellent nett 70 -4 and therefore winning the Herts Coasters prize.

Dyrham Park were excellent hosts on the day and the competitors enjoyed an sumptuous late afternoon tea after play with finger sandwiches, cakes and scones!

Congratulations to all our winners who came from 4 different clubs, very different from recent playing of this event where on occasion all the prize winners have been from the same club.

Next years event is already booked to be played at Letchworth Golf Club on Monday 15th June 2026.
