Mill Green and the sunshine warmly welcomed us back for another of our Hertfordshire School’s Championships.
This time it was the Mid Handicap golfers chance to show off their skills and they certainly did.
An unprecedented 72 students students made up a full field for this Championship, which saw 26 different schools represented.
With little rain recently, both the greens and fairways were running fast, which made it tricky scoring conditions despite the perfect weather.
Four students retuned 36 Stableford points, so it required countback to separate them, with Louie Cook of Goff’s School taking 3rd place and Nate Lord of St. Georges School securing 2nd place.
The winner, with an excellent 38 points, was Blake Stopforth of Sir John Lawes School. The Aldwickbury Park member putting together a consistent round, with 19 points on both nines and a gross score of 83.
