In stroke play, a player removes an out of bounds stake which interferes with their swing and then plays their shot. What is the ruling ?
Answer – An out of bounds post is defined as immovable (even if it is). If you remove it and then play your shot you incur the general penalty of 2 strokes under Rule 8.1a(1)
If the white Out of Bounds posts are internal and not in play for the hole you are on, then the post may be removed or free relief taken away from it.
