Taking Relief From A Ball Lying On The Wrong Green

When taking relief from a wrong green, you drop the ball in the correct relief area but the ball rolls back towards the wrong green. The ball is not lying on the wrong green, but you play your next shot whilst standing on the wrong green. What is the ruling?

Answer – You get the general penalty  i.e. loss of hole in match play, two penalty strokes in stroke play. Rule 13.1(2) – If a wrong green physically interferes with a player’s intended stance total relief must be taken.
