Mens Seniors Team start season with friendly match vs West Herts Mens Scratch Team

Report from Mens Seniors Captain Simon Kay; 

The County Mens Seniors Team started their 2025 season in a new fixture against the Mens West Herts Scratch team, giving squad members more opportunity to play our “home fixture” course for the South East Group league season ahead.

Whilst a sunny day, the swirling wind provided a tricky test.  Good wins from David Lang, Dominic Ronan and Paddy Barnham at the top of the order gave us the ideal start. However, the West Herts middle order fought back to take the next four games, two of them on the 18th, to edge in-front. In the final game, county stalwart Jason Court produced a good win to make the match a tie in a final score of 4-4.

A good result against a strong West Herts team.
