Report from ‘stand-in’ Manager on the day Boys U16 Manager Graham Oram;
As the picture portrays it was a wet day when, during half term, Hertfordshire Under 13’s Boys entertained Essex in a friendly match at Knebworth. The positive side of the day was that our young lads won 8-3, some quite convincingly, and the hospitality by Knebworth Golf Club was what we have come to expect from them. It was top drawer.
What a shame our captain Alfie Kitteridge, holding the blue & white umbrella, is almost completely hidden from view. Nevertheless, Alfie captained the team well, made a nice speech and won his match on the 18th. The cameraman will do better next time!
All matches were played in an excellent spirit with friendships being made and I am sure over the coming years many of these boys from both counties will often be in playing together in competitions up and down the country.
