Brocket Hall’s Women Qualify For Semi-Finals Of Academia Golf Classic In Spain

Road to Spain

Report from Joyce Lim

Brocket Hall Golf Club Ladies are delighted to announce that we are one of four from over 300 initial teams that entered from across the country to qualify to play in the semi finals/final of the Academia Golf Classic competition to be held at the impressive Montecastillo Golf course in Spain in early February 2026.

The Academia Classic is considered to be the premier club team event and the only National Golf Club Team in the UK.

It is a tough, prestigious knock out competition.  The team from Brocket Hall were fortunate to get a bye in the first round and then battled against Royston (away) where we won 3/2.

Our next challenge was against Verulum (also away) where we once again won 3/2.

We then progressed on to beat Aldwickbury who we beat on home turf 4.5/0.5.

We then moved on to knock out the ladies from Hadley Wood whom we beat 4-1 away at HW.

By this point, things were tough – but the Brocket Hall ladies were tougher and we dug deep to beat Ingesterre 5/0 on the lovely Melbournecourse at home.

In our last match we were cheered on by home supporters and caddies – we focused and fought hard to beat last years semi finalists – Northamptonshire County 3.5/ 1.5 in a tense good spirited match.

So our bags are packed and our spirits are high, as we are off to sunny Spain from feb 5-9th to do battle against the ladies of Dundas Park, The Warren and Royal North Devon.

Hertfordshire Golf wish them well.
