Boys Under 18’s defend Challenge Shield

The annual match between the Boys U16 and U18 squads took place over the recent half term break at a wet and windy Berkhamsted GC.

With more than half the boys who were originally invited to play being on either family holidays, school trips, playing in sunnier climbs or on the ski slopes of Europe, a new format was to be trialled with those who were available, including some invitees from the Development squad.

However, the recent heavy rain continued on the day and an abridged version was contested with the best 6 gross scores from 8 boys from each team being used to determine the overall winner after the course was closed at the climax of the opening 18 holes. Running out comfortable winners on this occasion was the U18s with a combined score of +55 in very challenging conditions.
