A Narrow Loss at Henley for the Women’s Seniors Team

The Women's Senior team had a really close call at against Oxon at Henley GC on Thursday 13th July. The weather was generally kind given the recent monsoon climate that is developing and most of the matches managed to get off the course with dry clubs.

For those of you that haven’t played there, a visit is thoroughly recommended.  It such a beautiful setting and a really interesting mix of holes.  Plus it has a really sweet halfway house serving homemade cakes, so what’s not to like!

Alas all of this loveliness didn’t result in a win but it was a really narrow loss despite the presence of County President Robin Colbourne who came to lend his support. Oxon won 4-3 but all of the matches were tight so it’s still all to play for in the BBH&O league as the Herts could win if they beat Hants and Berks do us a favour in their match against them on 1st Aug.  At least the team will know what they need to do going to Corhampton GC to play them on 17th August.  Bring it on!

Thanks to all of the team for playing and the reserves for being so understanding.
