Harry Cox Storms To Victory At Hertfordshire Bowl

Harry takes Hertfordshire Stag, King George V and Hertfordshire Bowl clean sweep

Harry Cox of Welwyn Garden City had a stellar weekend at Moor Park and Porters Park May 9/10th, competing in the prestigious annual Hertfordshire Stag and King George V.

Harry, fresh back from completing his 1st year at Grand Canyon University in the US, continued his rich vein of form from last year back on home soil.

The 36 holes Strokeplay at Moor Park in The Stag was pretty much one way traffic, with Harry the only player in the field to shoot in the 60’s, doing so both morning and afternoon to return a 137 (-7) total, to complete a 5 stroke victory

Harry took his 5 stroke lead in The Hertfordshire Bowl (Hertfordshire Stag and King George V combined overall scores) to Porters Park the following day for The King George V 36 holes Strokeplay.

Harry carried his form on from the day before, once again shooting both rounds in the 60’s, for a 135 (-5) total and a 6 stroke victory from 2025 County Champion, Laurie Owen of Letchworth.

With both individual titles secured, came the overall Hertfordshire Bowl victory to complete a hat-trick of success.

Harry’s 272 (-12) 72 holes total gave him a runaway 11 stroke margin of victory from Laurie, the only other player to finish under par.

Following on from Harry’s weekend of success, he recently competed in The Brabazon Trophy at the fabulous Moortown Golf Club in Yorkshire.

With an international field of top male amateurs, Harry put in the best county performance, with an excellent 12th place finish over the 72 holes championship, leaving it to the final round to finish with his best saved to last 66 (-6)
