Bedfordshire joined the Women’s Senior East Region League this year and the Herts team were due to play them away at Aspley Guise & Woburn Sand on Thursday 25th September.  Course maintenance work there meant that three holes were out of commission and one had been shortened from a par 5 to a par three. On this basis, the decision was taken only a few days before, to play an away fixture at Mid Herts GC. Thanks to Mid Herts General Manager Richard Martin and his team for accommodating this match at such short notice and for taking good care of the players.
Home advantage was not a factor unfortunately as most of the Beds players had played at Mid Herts more recently than the Herts players. It didn’t matter however as the Herts players knuckled down in the beautiful autumn sunshine and got the job done winning 5.5 to 0.5.
