David and Daniel Hobbs, Brookmans Park Golf Club, Win Family Cup
WINNERS: David & Daniel Hobbs of Brookmans Park
The Hertfordshire Golf Family Cup competition is played by an adult and a junior, (one of the pair must be under 18 years of age on 1st of January preceding the competition and one of the pair must be aged 18 or older on the 1st January). The two players must be related to each other, and each player must have a Handicap Index (HI) no higher than 32.4 on the date of entry. The players in the pair do not have to be from the same club but both must be members of an affiliated Hertfordshire Club. The competition is an 18-hole fourball better ball handicap stableford, using 85% handicap allowance.
Only eight pairs entered the event this year which was probably down to a clash with other golfing events such as the iTour at Whipsnade Park and LIV Golf at Centurion plus a weekend of fabulous televised live sport with England winning the 3rd test and two brits on the podium at the British Grand Prix!
Overall, everyone seemed to enjoy the day and despite the low numbers the scoring was above average.
The winning pair with 46 stableford points were David (9) and Daniel Hobbs (8) of Brookmans Park Golf Club
The runners up, from Knebworth Golf Club with 44 stableford points were Anthony (18) & Liam Stokes (11)
