Herts Golf Honorary Member and Past Curtis Cup Captain wins National Seniors event

Congratulations to our own Elaine Ratcliffe of Essendon Country Club, who last week won the English Senior Womens Amateur Championship event, played just over the border at Bedfordshire Golf Club.

Elaine, who is a former LET Professional, 2 time Curtis Cup Captain and a Hertfordshire Golf Honorary Member, won the event which is played as a 36 hole strokeplay qualifier, and then into KO matchplay rounds. Elaine finished in 6th position in the strokeplay rounds, before playing Kerry Smith of Hampshire in the final, which Elaine eventually won in a sudden death play off on the 19th hole.
