County Fourball Champions 2023 – Stuart Edwards & Dan Baldock of Welwyn Garden City
2023 COUNTY FOURBALL CHAMPIONS STUART EDWARDS & DAN BALDOCK OF WELWYN GARDEN CITY, PICTURED WITH THE HANBURY MANOR CLUB CAPTAIN MARK THACKER
Hanbury Manor G&CC was the host club this year for our County Fourball Championship event, traditionally run as a Men’s event but this year run as a competition open for clubs to enter both male and female competitor pairs for the first time.
35 pairs of Herts golfers played on the day, of which 9 were all female pairs, which is a higher number of competitors than in previous years.
The round was played in overcast and blustery conditions and after all the recent wet weather the course played very long and tough, even with the male players playing from the yellow tees.
The best score on the day was a terrific 43 points achieved by Stuart Edwards & Dan Baldock of Welwyn Garden City, who took the title by 1 point from John Kilbey and Ed Clark of South Herts, with back in 3rd place was Scott Alexander & Bob Morris of Brookmans Park on 41 points on a back 9 countback from 2 other pairs.
