3 Herts golfers selected for Home International Matches
ELLEN HUME WITH THE ENGLISH WOMEN’S AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY
3 Herts based golfers have been recently selected by England Golf to represent their country in the upcoming Home International series of matches.
In the Women’s team Ellen Hume of Mill Green is one of 7 women selected to play in the event to be played at Downfield in Scotland from 7 – 9 August. Ellen has had a superb year winning the Ladies’ County Championship at Sandy Lodge back in May, the English Women’s Amateur Championship at Saunton also in May and just recently dominated the field at the Faldo Series English Girls Championship.
In the Boys team Herts have 2 representatives out of 11 players! Max Hopkins of Bishop’s Stortford and Jack Bigham of Harpenden have both been called up for the event to be played at Ashburnham in Wales from 6 – 9 August.
We congratulate Ellen, Max and Jack on their selection and wish them all the best at the forthcoming matches.
With both the Men’s and the Women’s Senior teams still to be announced for the matches played in September, Herts could well have more representation with the likes of Jackie Foster of Bishop’s Stortford in with a good chance of selection.
