Anderson named in initial GB&I Walker Cup squad

TOMASZ ANDERSON (BROCKET HALL, HERTS & ENGLAND)

Hertfordshire’s Tomasz Anderson was one of 9 Englishmen to be named in the initial squad of 20 golfers from GB&I for this year’s Walker Cup, taking place at Royal Lytham & St Annes in September. 

A strong English core make up the majority of the 20 selected, but all countries are represented with 5 from Ireland and Scotland respectively and 1 from Wales. 

Tomasz will be hoping that a strong showing at this summer’s headline amateur events will sufficiently impress the selectors to select him into the final Squad of 10, announced roughly a month prior to the event. 

Hertfordshire were of course represented at the last Walker Cup by Callum Shinkwin, now turned Professional, of Moor Park, who was on the losing GB&I side at the National Golf Links at the end of 2013.
