AMBRIDGE DEFENDS SOUTH EAST SENIORS TITLE
JOHN AMBRIDGE (R) RECEIVING THE ALAN HOBSON TROPHY FROM THE SANDFORD SPRINGS CLUB CAPTAIN
John Ambridge retained the Alan Hobson Trophy last week (26 – 27 July) for the South East Group Seniors Championship played at Sandford Springs in Hampshire.
Last year John won the event played at Wanstead in Essex. This year John shot rounds of 70 (-1) and 73 (+2) for a total of 143 (+1) to take the title by 1 shot from Mark Stones of Essex.Â
Seniors Captain Mike Ready of Old Fold Manor finished in a tie for 11th position with a score of 150 (+8).Â
