Report from Womens County Seniors Team Manager Lindsay Murray Gray;
After a two month break, the senior women’s team are back up and running.
On Monday 29th July the team played their second match in the BBHH&O league against Hampshire at East Herts. We had two players making their Herts debut, Jacqui Sadler from Mid Herts and Sian Shrimpton-Davies from Brookmans Park, a hearty welcome to them both.
It is fair to say that it was a tad warm however the course was in beautiful condition and was very much enjoyed by both teams. Two matches went to the tricky par three 18th hole including one where our home player Sally Close had to hold her nerve after watching her opponent thin it from the bunker then thin it back across the green only to sink a monster 50 foot putt. Cool as cucumber Sally then placed her 8 footer right in the centre of the hole. Pressure? What pressure?
After all of this drama, we are pleased to report that the result was an honourable draw.
