Our own Jackie Foster of Bishops Stortford claimed the title of English Senior Womens Amateur Champion with victory last week at the York Golf Club.
Jackie by her own admission somewhat snuck through the strokeplay qualifying and into the KO rounds and was #16 out of #16 to make the cut. But true to form she provided stern opposition for all she came up against and despatched the medalist and #1 seed Emma Brown in her native Yorkshire in the Round of 16.
Jackie defeated Caroline Berry of Bromborough, Merseyside by the margin of 3&2 in the final match.
Congratualtions to Jackie on her stellar performance on the national stage.
