Hertfordshire’s Juniors Finish 3rd at George McPartlin Trophy

Flora, Eve, Maisie, Raff, Lewis and Matthew receive certificates from Aldenham's Men's and Women's Captain's Simon and Lesley

Sunday 15th September, Aldenham Golf Club hosted the England Schools Golf Association’s George McPartlin Trophy.

This annual event unites students from the four counties of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Middlesex and Essex together to compete in this fun team event.

It was Hertfordshire’s year to host and Aldenham golf club did the county proud, putting on a fabulously prepared course alongside wonderful hospitality.

The format brings together 9 students with mid handicaps from each county (6 boys & 3 girls), with them all playing individual Stableford. The winning county is determined by taking the 7 best individual scores from 9.

Hertfordshire were represented by Alfie Copeland, James McCann, Timo Herr, Raff Murru, Lewis Greenhill, Matthew Digweed, Maisie Palombo, Eve Warren and Flora Hadley, who qualified as the top 6 boys and top 3 girls from our county schools mid handicap tournament at Mill Green back in the Spring.

They did themselves and the county proud both on and off the course and although they were outdone by a fantastic performance from the Bedfordshire team, I’m sure they all enjoyed and benefitted from the experience.
