A warm and sunny Mill Green welcomed over 50 students from schools across Hertfordshire to our Mid Handicap Championship.
Boy’s with a handicap ranging from 12-32 and girls 18-32 are eligible to play in this Championship and it was the largest turnout for a number of years.
The course was in excellent condition and the greens were running particularly smooth and fast, which tripped up a number of players.
However, it certainly didn’t catch Eve Warren, a student of Freman College and member at Knebworth Golf Club out.
Eve posted a fantastic winning score of 42 Stableford Points, closely followed in Runners Up position by Louis Christoforou of Chancellor’s school on 41 points, with 3rd place being taken with 40 points from George Shone of Ashlyn’s School.
The top 6 boys and 3 girls from this tournament go on to represent Hertfordshire later this year in the George McPartlin Trophy, a contest which pitts Hertfordshire against neighbouring counties Essex, Beds and Middlesex.
