As last year, a late surge of amazing summer weather arrived exactly on time for the annual playing of the ‘Ann MacLaurin Trophy’ held at Aldenham Golf & Country Club on Sunday 13th September 2020.
The competition is a ‘Greensomes Stableford’ format, played by a female adult and junior but not necessarily from the same golf club, with combined handicaps between 20 and 50. This year 12 pairs entered to contest for the silver salver donated by the late Ann MacLaurin’s family.
The winners in first place with 40 stableford points were
Rebecca Osman (18) and Zainab Jeppe (5) from Mill Green Golf Club.
Second place with 36 stableford points went to
Lesley Ramsden (21) and Ixie Akpan (9) from Letchworth Golf Club – 36 points.
Third place, with 35 points, was won on countback by
Helen Maclean (12) and Grace Herbert (9) from Moor Park GC
over Tracey Culliford (12) and Grace Cranston (20) from Letchworth GC.
A massive ‘Thank you’ to the management and all the staff at Aldenham Golf Club for hosting this event during the Covid-19 pandemic.
