1st Team come up short in South East Mens Qualifier

HERTS 1ST TEAM, HANKLEY COMMON – FROM L TO R, LAURIE OWEN (LETCHWORTH), CPT & MANAGER GEOFF IDDENDEN (HARPENDEN COMMON), LUKE GROVES (HARTSBOURNE), LEWIS WATCHAM (HARPENDEN COMMON), JOE BROOKS (HANBURY MANOR), CHRIS EDWARDS (EAST HERTS) & JORDAN LAWRENCE (SANDY LODGE). 

The South East Group Qualifying took place at Hankley Common Golf Club in Surrey on Saturday (July 12), on a beautifully presented golf course. Accuracy was at a premium, for those who missed the fairways and slick greens, there invariably was only one result, a bogey or worse.

The Hertfordshire team generally struggled with none of the 6 man team breaking Par in either of the two rounds. The only two players matching the Par of 71 during the course of the tournament for Herts were Joe Brooks in the morning round and Chris Edwards in the afternoon round.

The overall team score of + 59 left Hertfordshire trailing a long way behind the winners, the home team, Surrey, who will go on and represent the South East Group in the England Golf County Championship later this year.
