East Region County Match Days 2023 – Day 2 Results

East Region County Match Days – Wensum Valley, Norfolk

Tuesday 4th July

Herts lost this mornings session of Day 2 to Bedfordshire 3-2. Halved matches from Maddie Rolph and Emmanuelle Hewson and a win from Darcie West in the singles gave Herts a 2-1 lead, but sadly lost both foursomes matches. 

Herts then followed up with a match against defending Champions and currently unbeaten so far this year Essex in the afternoon session. Sadly we suffered a narrow defeat once again going down 3-2. There were halved matches in the singles from Emmanuelle Hewson and Charlie Field/Jackie Foster in the foursomes and a win in the singles from Maddie Rolph. All 5 matches went at least to the 17th in a tight encounter. 

This result ruled us out of a potential win and gave Essex a considerable lead, with the hosts Norfolk their only rivals left with a chance. 

We finish the event on Wednesday morning with a match up against Suffolk.
